Fertility awareness and choices among young people.

Abstract

There is a lack of knowledge about fertility and reproductive health among the public and also, importantly, healthcare professionals. Sex and relationship education in schools has traditionally focused on avoiding unwanted pregnancy. Programmes such as the Fertility Education Initiative in the UK have introduced education on all aspects of reproductive health so that young people are empowered with the knowledge to make the right reproductive choices at the right time.
